The legend of Lake Toba

I will tell you about the legend is famous. The legend is Lake Toba,  if you never read Let's read now! 

In ancient times in a village in North Sumatra there lived a farmer named Toba he lived alone in a fertile valley. The farmer worked on his farm for his life needs. In addition to working on his fields, sometimes the man goes fishing to a river not far from his house. Every time he fished, he could easily get fish. He cooks the fish he cooks to eat.

One afternoon, after returning from the field the man immediately went to the river for fishing. But he had been fishing for quite a long time, but did not get any fish. Such an event, never experienced before, usually the fish in the river are easy to catch. Because no one had eaten the fishing bait for too long, he became annoyed and decided to stop fishing. But when he was about to pull the fishing line, suddenly the fishing rod was struck by a fish that immediately pulled the fishing rod deep in the middle of the river. His heart that had been irritated turned happy, because he knew that the fish that grabbed the fishing rod was a big fish.

After a while he let the fishing line be pulled to and fro, and there appeared a big fish hanging on the end of his fishing line. Quickly the fish is pulled so that it doesn't come loose. Smiling happily, his fishing eyes were released from the fish's mouth. When he is releasing the fishing rod, the fish looks at it meaningfully. Then, after he put the fish into one place he entered into the river to take a bath. His feeling was very happy because he had never got such a big fish. He smiled as he imagined how delicious the fish meat would be when it was baked. When leaving the river to go home, the day has begun at dusk.

Arriving at home, the man immediately brought the big fish from the bait to the kitchen. When he was about to light a fire to bake the fish, it turned out that firewood in the kitchen of his house had run out. He immediately went out to get firewood from under his house. Then, when the man arrived in the kitchen, he was very surprised because the big fish was gone. But at the place where the fish was placed, there were a few gold coins, he was shocked and surprised to experience this strange situation, he left the kitchen and entered the room.

When the man opened the door of the room, suddenly in that room stood a woman with long hair unraveling. The woman was combing her hair while standing facing a mirror that hung on the wall of the room, then the woman suddenly turned around and looked at the man. The man became very fascinated because the face of the woman standing before him was extraordinarily beautiful. After a few weeks the woman stated she was willing to accept her application provided the man had to swear that in his lifetime he would never bring up the origin of his wife from a fish. After the man promised, they were both married.

A year later, they were blessed with a son whom they named Samosir. The child was very spoiled by her mother, which made the child lazy.

After the child grows up, the child is told by his mother to deliver rice every day to his father who works in the fields. However, often he refused to do the assignment so his mother was forced to deliver rice to the fields.

One day, the child was told by his mother to deliver rice to the fields for his father. At first he refused, but he continued to be forced by his mother. In the middle of the road, he ate most of the rice and side dishes. When he arrived in the field, he left only the remaining rice with his father. Upon receiving it, the father was very hungry because the rice was too late to be delivered. Therefore, his father became very angry when he saw the rice given to him was low. His anger intensified when his son confessed that he ate most of the rice, until he hit his son while saying:

 "Bad boy, unknowing. You are indeed a descendant of a woman who comes from a fish! "

While crying, the child ran home to meet his mother at home, he told his mother that he had been beaten by his father. All the words his father uttered were told to his mother. Hearing the story of his son, his mother was very sad especially because her husband had broken his vow with the words he said to his son. The mother told her son to immediately go up the hill not far from their house and climb the tallest tree on the hilltop. Without asking again, the child immediately carried out his mother's orders. He ran to the hill and climbed it.

When his son had almost reached the top of the tree he climbed on the hill, he ran towards the river not far from their house. When he arrived at the edge of the river flashed with a loud roar, then he jumped into the river and suddenly turned into a big fish. At the same time, the river became a major flood and very heavy rain fell. After a while, the river water overflowed. Mr. Toba could not save himself, he died drowned by a puddle of water, so that the puddle grew wider and turned into a very large lake and later named Lake Toba.
