The legend of "Pulo Kemaro"

Assalamu'alaikum Wr. Wb.

Hello everyone..😀

In this my blog I will post the legend of Pulo Kemaro. If you never read, let's read yess.

Once in the area of South Sumatra, there was a king in the Kingdom of Srivijaya. The king has a beautiful daughter named Siti Fatimah. Besides being beautiful, he also has good character. The way he spoke softly reflected the nature of a king's daughter. Her beauty and kindness amazed young people in Palembang. However, no young man dared to propose to him, because his parents wanted him to marry the king's rich son.
One day, there came a king's son from China named Tan Bun Ann. The son of the King of China intends to stay for quite a long time in the country, because he wants to expand his business. As a migrant, Tan Bun Ann came to King Sriwijaya to inform him of the intention of his arrival in the country.
Tan Bun Ann asked permission from the King to be allowed to develop his business in the country, but the King gave him the conditions that he had to do which was to surrender a portion of his fortune to the King. Tan Bun Ann accepted King Sriwijaya's request. Since then, every week he goes to the palace to give up some of his profits. One time, he met Siti Fatimah in the palace. Since he first saw Siti Fatimah's face, Tan Bun Ann immediately fell in love. And vice versa, Siti Fatimah also put her heart in her. Finally, they have a relationship. Feeling compatible with Siti Fatimah, Tan Bun Ann intends to marry her.
One day, Tan Bun Ann met the King of Srivijaya to propose to Siti Fatimah. The King of Srivijaya will give him permission, but there are conditions that need to be done that is to provide nine jars of gold.
Without thinking, Tan Bun Ann was willing to fulfill those conditions.
Tan Bun Ann immediately sent someone to China to deliver a letter to his parents. After a while, the messenger returned with a reply letter to Tan Bun Ann. The reply letter from his parents contained the blessing of their marriage and at the same time an apology, because they could not attend their wedding. However, as a sign of affection for him, his parents sent nine jars of gold. For the safety and security of the jars containing gold from pirates, they covered it with mustard greens without the knowledge of Tan Bun Ann.
When he found out that some of the people he was told had returned, Tan Bun Ann and Siti Fatimah and their families immediately left for the pier at the Musi River Estuary to check the contents of the nine jars. On arrival at the dock, Tan Bun Ann immediately ordered to show the jars.
After the envoy took out the nine jars from the ship's room, Tan Bun Ann immediately checked the contents one by one. How surprised he was after seeing the jar was only filled with vegetable mustard which had rot.
Tan Bun Ann was embarrassed to be seen by Raja and Siti Fatimah. Hopefully, Tan Bun Ann immediately opened another jar. However, after opening the jars, it turns out that they all contain vegetable mustard which has rot. Increasingly disappointed the son of the King of China. Disappointed, he immediately threw the jars to the Musi River one by one without checking them first. When he wanted to throw the last jar to the river, his legs suddenly tripped so that the urn fell to the floor of the ship and broke. How shocked he was when he saw the gold bars coming out of the jar. It turns out that under the rotting mustard, gold bullion is stored. He and a bodyguard immediately entered the Musi River to collect the jars containing the gold.
Seeing this, Siti Fatimah immediately ran to the edge of the ship to see the condition of her future husband. Anxiously, he waited for his future husband to appear on the surface of the river. Because the person he loved so much did not appear, finally Siti Fatimah along with her loyal servants came into the river to look for the prince from China. Before he entered the river, he advised the person on the boat.
"If there is a pile of land on the banks of the river, that means it's my grave," Siti Fatimah said.
A few days after the incident, a pile of land emerged on the banks of the Musi River. The longer the pile becomes an island. Local people call it Pulo Kemaro. Pulo Kemaro in Indonesian means Pulau Kemarau. So named, because the island has never been flooded even though the volume of water in the Musi River is increasing.
