Once upon a time, there lived a widow in a village. He has a son named Jaka Tarub. Every day, Jaka Tarub goes to the forest to collect wood and hunt animals. One day, when Jaka Tarub went to the forest, he heard a sound from the river near the forest. after that, he approached the river and searched for the sound. it turns out he saw seven girls bathing in the river. After the girls are finished, they take their shawls and fly to the sky through the rainbow. Amazingly, they are not humans but they are fairies. The next day, Jaka Tarub returned to the river he had an idea. When the fairies bathe in the river. He stole one of their shawls. So, after the fairies were finished, one of them named Nawang Wulan could not find the scarf. His friends must return to the sky. So, they left it on the river. Nawang Wulan cried. And then Jaka Tarub approached him and invited him to stay at his house. Not long after that, they married and had a baby girl. As a fairy, Nawang Wulan has spiritual power. Every time he cooks rice, he only needs a little rice and after cooking, the pan will be full of rice. But, the pan cannot be opened before it's finished. One day, Jaka Tarub really wanted to know. He opened the pan before it was finished. As a result, Nawang Wulan's spiritual strength disappeared. He must cook like an ordinary human. He needs more rice than usual. The stock of rice decreases rapidly. Then one day, when he took rice, he found his scarf. Apparently, it was hidden by Jaka Tarub. Finally, as a fairy, he must return to the sky. Nawang Wulan asked Jaka Tarub to look after his daughter and build a tower. Every full moon, he will come to the tower to meet his daughter. Then, Nawang Wulan returned to the sky and Jaka Tarub was very sad.
